Dr. Joseph M. McKieran

I founded the Spinal Rehab Clinic in 1977 after graduating Northwestern College of Chiropractic.

I was raised in Connecticut, at a time when chiropractic was unknown. My mother was a nurse and she thought I was throwing away my Pre-Med education. I remember getting on that bus in 1973 to come to Minnesota to start chiropractic training, hoping it was for “real.” Well, I am glad to say, I’ve never looked back.

I have had the fortunate pleasure of helping and being a part of my patient’s lives. There is a quiet joy in taking good care of families, watching children grow to adults, and yes, comforting those “left behind.”

I have been married to my wife, Mary, for 25 years and we have two adopted children from South America. We enjoy the lakes, woods, gardening, and of course, shoveling snow.

Daniel C. Carlson

I was born in Red Wind, Minnesota, but am a native of Sauk Rapids. Early on I knew I wanted to work in the medical field, but was unsure on what specialty to choose. This is when I suffered a blessing in disguise. I was injured in high school and my parents brought me to see a local chiropractor--in fact the very doctor I currently work with today. I was able to see first-hand the incredible benefits of chiropractic care. The more I researched this field, the more I could see the benefit and impact of chiropractic on patients’ lives.I knew that I had found my calling.

I attended St. Cloud State University as an undergraduate and then Northwestern College of Chiropractic. Upon graduation in 1986 I returned to Sauk Rapids to join the practioner who had inspired me. Since that time I have had the unique opportunity to help literally thousands of individuals to live happier, healthier, more active lives. As a 16 year practioner in this area I have also had the opportunity to see families grow and to watch as patients reached their goals and potential with our help.

I have been married for 15 years. My wife, Joan, is a native of Foley, a small town about 15 miles east of Sauk Rapids. Together we have two children, both boys. Michael is 12 and in the 7th grade. He is very active in sports. Jonathan is nine and in the 4th grade. He is active in school and music. In our free time we enjoy spending time with our families, the outdoors, as well as golf, traveling and the changing seasons with the variety of activities that central Minnesota offers.

Michael Mansour

Michael is the newest addition to our physical therapy department. He joined our team in November of 2000 when growth in our practice demanded more staff and office space. With the addition of Mike we doubled the size of our physical therapy department plus added state of the art renovations. He previously worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in St. Cloud where he gained experience with pain management, post surgical and rehabilitation patients. He brings to our practice his skills of working with the seriously ill, as well a desire to help people prevent illness and injury. He also enjoys working with athletes, he himself being an avid soccer player. He received his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Related Sciences in Rochester, MN in 1995. Mike was raised in Rochester, MN, and comes from a medical family. His mother and father were both Mayo Clinic employees, and his siblings are also in medically-related fields.

Charles L. Thompson

Hi, I am Dr. Chuck Thompson. I have been practicing chiropractic in the St. Cloud/Sauk Rapids area for the past 12 years. I was born and raised in the St. Cloud area and graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1981. I did my undergraduate studies at St. Cloud State University, attended and graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1989. My wife Stacy and I have been married for 15 years and we have three beautiful children, Trent, Madison and Carson and reside in Sartell, MN. I enjoy golfing, watching my two sons play hockey, watching my daughter perform her dance routines and coaching my oldest sons’ basketball and baseball teams, as well as family vacations at the cabin.

I have always been interested in sports, both in participation and watching. At our clinic we treat numerous athletic injuries and I enjoy being a part of this health care avenue for the injured athlete. I understand how the injured athlete feels and how disappointing it is to not partake in practices and games when you are injured. It is my goal to return the injured athlete to the playing field as soon as possible without risking further injury.

Having had three children, I know how parents feel when the little ones are not feeling as well and energetic as they normally feel. Another goal for me is to restore normal function to the spinal cord and to the nervous system in an effort to return to their playful habits and give mom and dad a break from the crying and complaining that children do hen they are not feeling well.
